This term we have been learning about the Technology cycle-Ask (What is the problem?), Imagine (Brainstorm some solutions), Plan (Think, Draw, Label), Create ( Make and test), Improve ( Evaluate our creation and adjust the design to make it better).
We learnt that new things are created to either make our lives easier, solve problems or to improve a product.
We learnt how to show Integrity by: Listening to other's ideas, joining in with group tasks, managing ourselves while making our creations, sharing and discussing our own ideas, and encouraging others.
We had to make choices about the best materials to use. We discovered that some materials are easier to cut and glue than others. We gained practical skills such as cutting, tying knots, using a hole punch and stapler.
We enjoyed creating paper planes, parachutes, pirate boats, bridges and insects. Here are some photos of our creations.

Term 3 Inquiry: Bees
This term for our
Science Inquiry, we looked at Bees.
After going on a bee hunt around the school, we identified that bee
numbers were declining. Through our
discoveries, we learnt that this is a problem for our environment because we
need bees to pollinate our flowers and therefore provide us with food. We discussed the problems bees were facing
and thought that by planting a garden, we could encourage the bee population to
increase. Here are some photos of me
taking action and sharing my learning.

Lolly Invention
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
We have been
reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl. We had the task of designing a new candy or
lolly for Willy Wonker’s Chocolate Factory.
Our lolly had to have a special feature.
Special Feature: When you eat this lolly it never loses its flavour and never melts!
